Shedding a tear honors
those lives lost in tragedy.
Whether via airplane crash,
building collapse or bomb blast
on battle fields filled with mines
each fallen civilian or soldier
deserves to be remembered.
Let your tears fall freely
while standing on domestic
or foreign soil; do not allow
their deaths to be in vain.
Hug a fellow citizen
of the red, white, and blue;
colors that fly and wave strong
with 50 stars and 13 stripes.
We divide ourselves too often
to our own demise; yet the world
sees us as one land. Together
we must stand united
indivisible as one nation
under God.
